Is it mandatory that Module B and Module D have the same manufacturer?

The British legislation does not explicitly allow or disallow the situation where Module B and Module D do not have the same manufacturer. NMi Certin UK (TIC) Ltd. has the opinion that this situation is allowed. Both companies shall have a binding agreement on keeping the module D owner informed about the instrument’s design and production. Besides that, the owner of the module D shall ensure the instruments placed on the market are compliant with the TEC by either:

  • Ensuring the owner of the Module B has his own Module D, or
  • Performing supplier audits at the owner of the Module B, or
  • Performing product inspections on the instruments supplied.
