WP: CYBER SECURITY IEC 62443

Many factors play a role in achieving sufficient cyber security over the life cycle of Industrial Automation and Controls Systems (IACS). This paper aims to sketch how the various parts of the IEC 62443 series can be used as guidance in the various life cycle stages, by the stakeholders involved. Although the title of the IEC standard implies coverage of IACS only, it also applies to for instance Smart City systems and other automation systems of similar architecture. In fact, the focus lies on Operational Technology (OT) that detects, senses and/or measures and, automatically takes action based on these inputs; in other words, the control aspect of an IACS.
