NMi Delivers Expertise for Implementation of new Dutch Energy Law

21 December 2022

In order to modernize the existing Gas and Electricity grid, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate has started creating a new draft law: the Energy Law. In this new law, a number of European directives will be implemented, like the Clean Energy Package and some parts of the Climate Agreement to reduce CO2 emissions.

This draft Energy Law will be implemented with a number of regulations. Here also connections with the Metrology Law exist as well as regulations for gas and electricity meters which are not covered by the application of the Metrology Law.

For this topic, the Ministry is hiring NMi’s expertise on the Metrology Law in combination with our technical knowledge of gas and electricity meters. In the coming 5 months, NMi will give input within a team of juridical advisors, in order to help with the implementation of the new the Energy Law. We’re thankful to notice our position is highly appreciated.
