With the different markets and services, we have to have a diversity of people. From technicians, administrative assistants, technical engineers, marketing communication specialists, laboratory technicians and sales managers. Everyone contributes to NMi’s great and worldwide reputation with their knowledge and hands on mentality.
The most essential aspect of my work is motivating and inspiring my team of Inside Sales. As a prior Inside Sales member myself, the team can rely on me with everything concerning clients or procedures, making my job quite personal, diverse, and thus energizing. In addition, I also have contact with clients regularly to make sure they are satisfied at all times.
I start off the day by checking my agenda and mailbox. Which appointments do I have with clients? What needs to be finished today? After creating my daily to-do list, I get a cup of coffee and take a moment to socialize with my colleagues. I return to my desk after a small chat and start reading through the client portal for status updates. I organise a quick meeting with the team to have everyone up to speed on our achievements and to divide the outstanding workload amongst team members.
After lunch I take the time to speak with customers. I get on a video call with a manufacturer to find out what specific product is being put on the market and which obstacles come with it. Ultimately, I propose the required service and we discuss an action plan together. The call ends and after writing down our talking points in the system, I join a meeting with all team leaders to discuss the problems that we run into on an operational basis. A brainstorming session helps us come up with ideas on how we can help each other forward.
NMi really gives me the opportunity to develop not only professionally, but also personally. Towards the end of the day I have a session with an external coach that guides me in my personal development, something that is much appreciated and goes beyond work. I close the day by ticking off the to-do list that I created in the morning. Did I finish what I planned to do in the morning? No need to worry, tomorrow is a new day!
