Electricity meters

NMi provides a wide range of testing for electricity meters. Our core business is testing in accordance with the IEC 62052 / 62053 series, for active and reactive energy, as well as for European harmonised standards EN 50470, which is the basis for MID approvals. Many other services are available as well. For example, testing in accordance with the new safety standard 62052-31, the OIML R 46, durability examination or 2-150 kHz testing. If likely we can also test for specific markets, such as Australia or South-Africa and apply the local requirements. Gas meters

Our testing services cover all types of gas meters, including diaphragm, ultrasonic, rotary, and turbine meters, adhering to standards like EN 1359, EN 14236, and OIML R 137. We provide testing and certification services that are recognized internationally through the OIML Certification System. NMi’s team stays ahead of developments through participation in working groups like WELMEC 11 and OIML TC 8.

Water and heat meters

NMi supports both residential and industrial applications for water and heat meters. Testing for water meters follows OIML R 49 and ISO 4064, while heat meters are examined based on OIML R 75 and EN 1434 standards. Our Notified Body status enables us to issue MID approvals, helping streamline the international certification process.

Power quality

Our services for power quality meters are compliant with IEC 61000-4-30 Edition 3, with testing based on IEC 62586-2 methods. NMi can also test PMDs (Performance Measuring and Monitoring Devices) for voltage, frequency, power, and energy, ensuring the reliability of power quality devices.

Communication, data security and penetration testing

We conduct data security and penetration testing based on CEN/CENELEC/ETSI standards, ensuring robust communication systems for smart meters. We also offer source code reviews, identifying vulnerabilities to enhance code quality and minimize risks. These code reviews are performed on site, on a manufacturer’s premises.
