Particle Number Counters for Diesel Vehicle Compliance

The demand for particle number counters is growing to ensure the effectiveness of diesel particle filters in reducing vehicle exhaust emissions. These instruments are crucial for environmental compliance and air quality.

NMi’s Role and Certification

As part of the VERT group, NMi helped draft a proposal for using particle number counters in Periodical Technical Inspections (PTI). This proposal is now part of national regulations in the Netherlands and has been included in Belgium’s national tender. It also closely aligns with Swiss regulations for machinery.

NMi examines these instruments and, upon passing the tests, issues a national type examination certificate along with a Proposal certificate. These certifications ensure compliance and reliability.
